Welcome to the Inaugural Issue

Hello!

Welcome to the inaugural Spring 2024 Issue of the Cougar Review, Crockett’s very own literary magazine! I wanted to resurrect the school’s literary magazine because students need a first stepping stone toward a career path in the literary arts. That said, writing isn’t just a career; we need art in society. We need people with creative and eloquent minds to produce content and explore the depths of the human experience.

We’re very grateful for the submissions we received. My goal next year is to increase the submission count significantly because I know many kids at Crockett would be excited about writing for this journal. So make sure to spread the word and tell anybody who might be interested!

Creative writing is a unique outlet for one’s soul and inner self. This literary journal is intended to serve as a springboard for students unfamiliar with the publishing industry to begin getting a feel for it.

I’d like to thank teachers Amanda Hope and Bianca Beronio for serving as advisors for this project. We welcome the support of all teachers and administrators as we grow and teach students about the value of writing and publishing.
