Poem: What You Did

By Naberius

Why did you bleed my heart in the first place?

Stabbed my back, so you couldn’t see my face;

Couldn’t talk this through;

Both hated change, but you shredded this apart to

the last bone for you to suck on;

And I’m here waiting

And you’re gone

The blades of grass so sharp and dull,

And all they do is drain my heart out even more;

So childish and so blind with this love,

You can’t even tell if you’re being lied to

You’re just smiling, walking on eggshells through lies

Estranged in so many ways;

“Leaving you”, something you should’ve thought of ages ago;

Should I try to be noticed, or hide the pain I paved?

I thought you cared about my lies

You just threw away what was inside of you,

Made room for someone else in you life;

Hope you cry yourself to sleep too;

So stubborn to recognize the truth;

Turns out you weren’t an experience,

Just a lesson for my heart to never leave it with someone like you;

Because honestly, my heart was happy, my mind knew better, but got lost in the void of your love.

Nothing.
